===How to get to Hostel Ann from JR Kanayama station===

1.　Walk out of the north exit of JR & Meitetsu Kanayama station and then turn right
2.　Cross over Otsu street, turn left at Macdonalds
3.　Keep straight along Otsu street for 1-2 mins
4.　Walk past Family mart (on your right) and then turn right
5.　Go straight and turn left at the second corner
6.　Take the second corner right, our sign is second building on your right

*There is a tourist information office at both Kanayama station and Nagoya station. (9:00-19:00)

7 min walk from north exit of JR & Meitetsu lines

6 min walk from Meijo line Exit No.1 (subway)

World Heritage

Shirakawago

"Gassho-zukuri Village in Shirakawa-go and Gokayama", were listed as sites of The World Heritage at the 19th UNESCO board held in Berlin, Germany on December, 1995, under Japan's requests.
Gassho-zukuri is a house built of wooden beams combined to form a steep thatched roof that resembles two hands together.
You can see houses such as these in other parts of the country.
